About Zonk
If you've ever found yourself walking the streets of London, then your subconscious is already aware of Zonk, even if you are not. Prolific in the nineties but still relevant today, Zonk and the DDS crew have changed the face of the London graffiti scene, his mark being left both on walls and in the minds and works of artists that have followed.
Early Beginnings
Hailing from North West London, he first started tagging around the age of 13 before joining DDS at 15. With inspiration from big names from the generation before, such as Sub and his cousin Teach, as well as support from his generation of DDS, such as Cos, he began to learn the power in repetition and find his voice, and people took notice. Almost overnight, London was saturated; whether you loved or hated graffiti, you were aware of Zonk.
Public Perception
When questioned if he views graffiti as art or vandalism, Zonk replied, "a bit of both." The ability to find beauty and purpose in something viewed by some as nothing more than crime is not always the easiest path to walk, and in his case, led to eight years in prison. But as minds start to broaden, what is considered art by the masses also starts to broaden.

Strength And Resilience In The Face Of Adversity
Outside of the graffiti world, people are finally seeing him not as a criminal, but as the artist he was always known to be within the right circles.
